Privacy policy · Updated November 2, 2026

Your information, handled like a person would want.

This page explains what information this site collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. The short version: I use what you send me to reply to you, and I don't sell it.

01

Who I am

theBrianSykes.com is the website of Brian Sykes. When this policy says “I” or “me,” it means Brian Sykes, the person responsible for this site and for any information you share through it.

Questions about your information go straight to me: brian@theBrianSykes.com.

02

What I collect

What you send me. When you use the form on the Let's Talk page, I receive your name, email address, organization (if you add one), the topic you choose and your message. If you email or call me, I receive whatever you include.

Bookings. If you book a call, Calendly collects your name, email and the details you enter, and shares them with me so I can hold the meeting.

Basic site data. Like most websites, the site and its hosting record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. It is used to keep the site running, secure and free of spam.

03

How I use it

I use your information to reply to you, to plan and deliver work you ask for, and to keep records of our conversations. I don't sell your information, and I don't add you to a mailing list unless you subscribe yourself.

04

Services this site relies on

Some features of the site are run by other companies, which handle data under their own privacy policies:

Bluehost hosts the site. WPForms runs the contact form, and Akismet may check form submissions for spam. Jetpack helps with site performance and security. OptinMonster may show sign-up messages.

Calendly handles booking. Embedded videos come from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode), the Instagram strip loads posts from Instagram, and links to my newsletters go to Substack. When you subscribe on Substack, Substack's policy covers that subscription.

05

Cookies

The site and the services above may set cookies, small files that remember things like whether you've already seen a message or that a form was sent. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features, like booking or embedded video, may not work fully without them.

06

How long I keep it

I keep messages and booking details for as long as they're useful for our conversation or our work together, and as long as I need them for business records. You can ask me to delete them at any time.

07

Your choices

You can ask me what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email brian@theBrianSykes.com and I'll take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local privacy law.

08

Keeping it safe

I use reasonable measures to protect your information, and I limit access to it. No website can promise perfect security, so please don't send anything highly sensitive through the form.

09

Children

This site is meant for adults and businesses. I don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

10

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the date at the top.
