I have a large and growing community of amazing creatives and explorers that I count friends in the realm of generative AI. Occasionally one of them will post something about me. Feature me in a digital mag, interview me for a YouTube or Podcast, or share some insights. This is one from my friend Rob Bagot. What follows are his words from his LinkedIn post. Link to the post is below also.

If you are an art director, creator, or just want to get your feet damp in the waters of generative AI, let Brian Sykes be your guide.

Brian has created a series of books on generative AI, has a stellar YouTube channel, and posts daily right here on LinkedIn.

If that’s not enough, he and his wife also have 8 children. But more about that later.

Learn more about Brian in this week’s edition of the Nextness AI magazine.

Thrilled to be releasing Nextness Volume 4.

So much to talk about.

First off: What is human? If we can’t figure this out, how can we even talk about AI?

My new friend Brian Sykes joined me for an interview and I got to learn all sort of stuff from the force of nature that people call the “AI Whisperer.” Brian creates videos, does daily posts, and publishes books on using tools like Midjourney. He and his wife also have eight children. How does he do it all?

There’s a new AI-generated film called “Thank You For Not Answering” that everyone should check out. It points to the fact that while we are debating whether generative AI is moral or not, stuff is continuing to be made post haste. Remember that 60-day AI cooling-off period? The Big Pause. No one does.

Also, I was curious about how the advertising world is looking at AI and put a simple chart together that gets at the issues that many people are having.

And because we just celebrated the 4th we, in turn, celebrate Vannevar Bush. A great American few have heard of, who mightily contributed to the age of computers. His essay “How We Might Think” is one for the ages.

Thank you to everyone who signed up last week. The list is growing and that feels really good. Also, if you have any suggestions or stuff you’ve seen that we should be writing about, please email me at rob@nextness.com
