First glance, it may be unclear what this is, but I wanted to highlight a high-level value solution to you creatives out there that is available with gen-AI >> asset creation.

I was asked “How’d you match the folds?” I used Liquify in Photoshop, and pushed and pulled the Smart Filter image to follow the contours of the the folds. For me, that works better than displacement maps when the underlying image is “more disturbed” than casual wrinkles.

This is for those who might be interested in learning how to do displacement maps, liquified overlays, etc… but the real lesson today is about images below – the wrinkled, crumpled kraft paper – onto which I dropped the JumpStart•U logo.

How?
• Crumpled paper texture with deep creases and folds. Kraft paper. monochromatic color palette –ar 2:3 –s 250

Modifying your description for LESS creases and folds – will give you less. That simple. So the next time you can’t find the perfect photo of a crumpled bag for a background texture? Why bother searching – just go create that image in Midjourney or SD (or the gen-AI text-to-img platform of choice)… Ta-da!
